INTO MY HEAD;
Perhaps the most obvious thing about miss Isabelle is that she is shy. She rarely talks to people, and when she does, she doesn't start the conversation. People make her nervous and that tends to make Isabelle shy away from any sort of interaction with them that she can avoid. She generally tends to be quiet and unassertive around others and it can generally be expected that she is perpetually nervous when people are talking to her. It takes a lot for Isabelle to warm up to someone and get past the skittishness that pretty much defines her, but once she does, she reveals the personality that lurks beneath her shy 'shell.'
There is a distinct sweetness in Isabelle's demeanor. She likes to do things for people no strings attached. She'll give people little gifts (anonymously, of course), just to see them smile about it later. If she knows that something she would do would hurt someone, she won't do it. To her, it's as simple as that. Cruelty is simply not in her vocabulary. She wouldn't know how to be mean if someone was punching her in the face. This really puts her out of her league when it comes to many other girls, but she doesn't seem to notice that too much. For the most part, Isabelle is guileless and kind, just doing her best to make the little corner of the world she inhabits a happier place.
There is a lot of almost childishness in Isabelle's mind. She is naive and innocent, oblivious to many things in life. The cruelty of people tends to go right over her head and so does a lot of other things. She seems to have a very childish outlook. Of course, there are times when even Isabelle's blind optimism fades, but she tends to get over that swiftly. Much of the world bypasses Isabelle in her almost blind innocence, but that's the way she likes it.
It's easy to upset this girl, but she bounces back swiftly. She has no shortage of tears, but they fade quickly. It doesn't take much to upset her, but she's usually over it within the hour. It takes a lot for Isabelle to stay upset. She's mostly a believer in 'forgive and forget' and tends to get over any sort of upsetness quickly. It tends to be very obvious when she's upset, but she does her best to hide it; Isabelle doesn't really like it when people feel bad for her because she's upset. Or when they notice she's upset, for that matter.
Perhaps this goes hand in hand with her childish nature, but Isabelle is very easily distracted. She finds it hard to focus on any one thing for too long. And when she tries to to do this, she usually ends up distracted ten seconds later. She's easily amused by the little things, by things like glitter or birds flying by. With the way her attention jumps from one thing to another, Isabelle finds it hard to pay attention to anything but the most interesting of things.

SIBLINGS; Lilian Tam, 25, student
ANYBODY ELSE IMPORTANT;
INTO THE PAST ;
Elaina Tam was a college professor, a teacher of English when she wandered into a small restaurant in the town that she taught at. The man who owned it swept her off her feet in minutes. She found herself coming back every day, and eventually, the owner of that restaurant fell for her too. They dated for a long while before he told her his secret; he was a Gifted. He could manipulate water, and that should have been enough to make her run away. But it wasn't, and they were married later that year. Two years later, their first child was on the way. Lilian Tam was a bright, happy little girl that was the light of Elaina and Samuel's lives. They waited to see if she would exhibit any signs of a gift, but she never did. And so, when Elaina discovered that she was pregnant about three years later, they were delighted, hoping to bring a gifted baby into the world.
However, like her elder sister, Isabelle Tam was just a human. She displayed no signs of a special gift, and was instead a perfectly average young child. She grew up, but never out of her childishness, retaining that childlike demeanor for the rest of her life. Her parents worried about her, at first, and so did her teachers, wondering about the quiet girl. But as time passed, people began to write her off. It wasn't that they didn't expect much of her; it was more of that she never did anything noteworthy and people began to forget about her. As Isabelle grew, she kept mostly to herself. She didn't have many friends, and that was okay with her. The ways of girls confused her, so Isabelle avoided them as much as possible. Her family was enough for her.
High school came and went. Isabelle got her driver's license, despite freaking out about driving in front of others. She learned to love psychology, which was slowly teaching her to understand the world around her, and when the day college arrived, she applied all around the country. Eventually, she settled on Hampton, Washington. It was a pretty place, far enough away from her home that she wasn't still on their doorstep and close enough that she could still visit from time to time. And as she began her college career, she found herself growing happier. Psychology was a challenge to her more than anything, but it interested her, drawing her in even as most people dropped her major.
Isabelle is currently a junior in college.
ROLE PLAY EXAMPLE
Blissfully oblivious to the exchange outside (she probably would have been terrified of this spirit healer. well either that or she'd love him.), Amara remained engaged in her own little world. She hummed a soft tune, just beneath her breath as she examined the pages, letting them imprint themselves on her mind and leaving fantastical images behind. Well, that was probably a bit of an overly elaborate description for reading and ignoring the world.
She was peaceful, until the moment that another flopped down at the table. He was a stranger, just sitting at her table. And he didn't even seem to have noticed her. There was a moment during which Amara bit back panic. He looked scary. But instead of freaking out, she forced herself to take a few deep breaths and examine him carefully. Now, he was unlikely to try and kill her in public, right? RIGHT. So she shouldn't be totally freaking out, right?
Amara wriggled back a bit, plastering herself against the back of the chair as she examined the guy, trying to get as far away from him as possible without being obvious. Maybe she could just stay like this until he left and that way he wouldn't notice her AND EVERYTHING WOULD BE OKAY, RIGHT?
Well, hopefully. Despite the fact that she was grasping vigorously at straws, Amara was doing her best to view this situation objectively. And she was failing, of course. But still. It was the thought that counted, right? "Um. Hi?" Amara squeaked nervously, forgetting for approximately ten seconds that she was trying to pretend that she didn't exist. And when she remembered again, the moment that the words were out of her mouth, she clapped a horrified hand over her mouth and highly debated just sliding out of her chair and running away.
Of course, Amara was too afraid to do that because maybe he'd just like hunt her down and kill her or something. Okay, that was a little paranoid but that was her default state of mind when random people sat at her table and totally ignored her. Hey, maybe one of her coworkers would rescue her soon. But no, they all seemed to be pretty engaged. And totally ignoring her. Well, crap. Now she was well and truly stuck with this scary guy.[/blockquote]
